Let’s take a deeper look at the root understanding of Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman in John 4:22-24 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. KJV

The key ingredients to the worship Jesus mentioned were spirit and truth so let’s define them to gain a better understanding of what kingdom worship requires.  It is worthy to note that in both mentioning’s of the key word spirit the “s” is not capitalized such as in His “God is a Spirit” comment yet both words have the same meaning.

In the Greek the word spirit is pneuma which means “a current of air that is breath”.  In the original Hebrew the word is ruach means “the wind of God or man, enlargement, inspiration, breath of life”.

The word truth in the Greek is “aletheia” which simply means “verity or reality”. In the original Hebrew the word is emeth which means “established, right, sure, faithful, what is firm, original information or meaning, what nurtures the covenant”.

While on earth Jesus would only speak and do what He heard and saw from God the Father and defined it as truth (John 5:19, 30, 36 & 8:40, 45 & 16:7 & 17:17).  He also called the Holy Spirit the “Spirit of truth” in (John 14:17, 15:26, 16:13).

We can see throughout the gospels that Jesus was the original true worshipper for He allowed original information or knowledge which was truth which contained the detailed will of God for His life to inspire Him from God the Father in Spirit and He would breath back to God what He saw and heard in His words and actions through complete obedience. The purest form of worship is, honoring and reverencing God byexhaling back to Him through complete obedience in actions and words the instructions that are inspired or deposited into us in order to nurture the covenant that He has with us and we have with Him. This is Kingdom spirit and truth worship at the highest level.
